Covid-19 Update for 2020-2021:
Following Quebec's government new provincial guidelines released on October 26th 2020, the island of Montreal and its surroundings are in a Red Zone, which means no inside or outside physical gatherings. Beyond Me's exective team has revised the situation and made the following decisions
Meetups between Mentors & Mentees
We strongly discourage mentors and buddies from meeting in person until Montreal exits the red zone. The COVID-19 virus spreads like wildfire and can be very threatening to one's health and being. We encourage mentors and buddies to meet via Zoom and engage in activities that will stimulate one's social skills, cognitive skills, language skills, physical and motor skills, etc. We, as a team, are always here for support and to give you ideas of new games and activities to do via remote location.
That being said, if mentors and buddies & their families formally agree on in-person meetings with respecting as much as possible the guidelines established by Quebec's Health Society (e.g. keeping a physical distance, putting the mask if needed, etc.) we will not interfere. We are perfectly aware that in-person meetings, although very fun, can be difficult. However, we will not be responsible for any health-related issue that may result as a consequence of these in-person meetings. It is up to the mentors and the buddies & their families to fully acknowledge the possible repercussions that may occur as a result of their actions.
Group Events and Meetups:
For the year 2020, we will not host in-person group events. We will continue to host monthly online events for mentors and buddies to meet and exchange.
